As the name would suggest Vehicle Ancestry tries to uncover a vehicle’s past.
Our new Classic Car division is embarking on its largest ever project. We hope to work with every vehicle owners club from cars, lorries, motor bikes even traction engines to produce the UK’s biggest database of vehicle images and stories.
As a keen lover of historic vehicles and the smell of oil & petrol. I know I’m not alone when I smile when watching an old vehicle go past me on our roads.
This could be as simple as an old picture which has been found to a full documented ownership of a vehicle.
Anyone will be able to upload images which will be vetted, categorised in to manufacturers & where possible will be linked to the owners clubs individual page on our website for those people wanting to contact the club, details will be made available.
This service will be offered free and will use our own technology to upload and index information. In 2024 we want to have an online diary which can be accessed by all to view any rallies or shows which are being held nationally by museums or owners clubs.
After launching Vehicle Ancestry in 2017 I know there will be hurdles to jump, I also know from the shows I’ve exhibited at, that many people think the idea is great and are happy to contribute.
I would welcome any ideas or feedback on how to take the people’s gallery forward.
